Calculation method
Compare the methods

Balance household contributions adjusts only expense contributions, with a minimum of ¥0.

Balance money left to spend includes income differences, so someone may receive money even when household expenses are ¥0.

How the calculation works

The calculator adjusts contributions based on the amount each person has left after paying household expenses. This differs from an even split or a fixed percentage of income.

Choose whether to balance household contributions or money left to spend. The calculator then compares each person's suggested contribution with what they already paid and creates a settlement.

Use it as a starting point for conversations between couples, families, housemates, or anyone sharing household expenses.
